I’m the Massachusetts policy director for the National Shattering Silence Coalition. We work to spread awareness and legislative reforms for the ones too ill to recognize they are ill living with severe mental illnesses like Schizophrenia, Bipolar with Psychotic features, TBI, and other psychotic illnesses. My advocacy has stemmed from watching my 23 yr old son lose his sanity because of schizoaffective disorder. He is now in state prison instead of a hospital. I have been shocked at how our society treats the severely mentally ill, with no options other than “come back when he’s dangerous” which is playing roulette with an unpredictable illness. Thank you 🙏 for choosing to share with MA citizens this important film. I am truly grateful to Curry for sponsoring this important documentary in this way.

I work for Aspire and I’m very concerned about the lack of support for mentally ill college students- one of the must underserved populations. And I’m concerned about inferior mental health hospitals and the lack of good and helpful and caring mental health hospitals.

This is important work and I need this badly. I’m in long term addiction recovery. My son with schizoaffective died from overdose while in recovery. I work with people in addiction recovery who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. We are everywhere.
